Tamasha Udaipur

This was such a beautiful experience. As someone who was on his first solo trip and not having stayed at hostels, staying at Tamasha was everything I hoped a stay at hostel would add to my trip. I stayed for 5 nights. Pragya is such a wonderful host giving her best to not just make her guests feel as comfortable as possible but also trying to engage them in various activities. A special mention to her parents who are always there to help. The view from the balcony and the terrace alone is worth the stay. The cafe area comes alive at night when other hostellers return from their day excursions to chat and talk about any and everything under the sun. The dorms are clean and cleaned every morning. The hostel is located in the old part of Udaipur and is just a stone’s throw away from City Palace and other major attractions. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an experience where they not only get to enjoy the beauty of Udaipur but also make new friends. Truly a home away from home.

Pragya (the owner) has done an outstanding job at creating an exceptional hostel experience. The location provides some of the best access to the City Palace and a jaw dropping view. Being in the middle of a staff transition, I got to meet her parents and eat her mother's food - which was excellent. The room was small (as expected) but sufficiently furnished, providing everything one needs (particularly reliable access to hot water). However, the top common areas are what make this place stand out - providing plenty of space to work, relax, and eat. Its size and design intriguingly lends itself to groups of people naturally drawing together for conversation while providing adequate room for people to draw aside if they need to focus on work or other activities. Pragya does a great job of engaging visitors and facilitating a sense of community and camaraderie, as well as helping them navigate the town, and ensuring they are safe and having a good time. The cherry on top is the stream of guests (both Indian and foreign) which have come to choose this place - the vast majority of whom make for great conversations, fun evenings, and exceptional travel experiences.

The hostel is located right beside the gate of the City palace with lots of eateries around. Everything was going fine till I had a sudden bad lower back pain the day before I had to leave for Mt Abu. I was in extreme pain and was unable to move or do anything. Pragya and her staff at the hostel helped me in getting the medicine , serving me food, even packed my suitcase. to make me feel comfortable she moved me from the dorm to a room . She helped me in rebooking my flight the next morning back to my city. Early morning her staff dropped me off at the car. i will be forever grateful to Tamasha Hostel for their assistance and kindnes in this unexpected medical emergency. thank you Pragya 💓 You are such an angel !

This is the best location in the City. I was warm welcomed by the family who runs the place. All of them were helpful in any case. The view from the roof top Terasse is amazing, there is no better place to stay for sunset. After 2 minutes walk you will find all what travellers need. Food, Taxi if needed and all the sights are reachable on foot. I can really recommend this paradies place called Tamasha. They arranged a taxi picking me up on the airport an the owner herself took me to the Tuk-tuk stand on the very early morning when I left. They also helped me to book a busticket to my next station. You come as a stranger and you leave as a friend.

I had an amazing stay at Tamasha Hostel in Udaipur! The rooftop view of Lake Pichola was breathtaking, especially during sunset. The ambiance was cozy, with vibrant décor and a great mix of travelers. The dorms were clean, the staff was super friendly, and the common areas were perfect for chilling. Loved the sunset chai(free) on the terrace! Definitely one of the best budget stays in Udaipur. Highly recommend and everything is in walking distance like bagore ki haweli (100 mtr), Gangaur ghat (100 mtr), jagdish temple, City Palace (30 mtr) .
